Nanotechnology is the engineering of tiny machines using techniques and tools developed today to make complete, highly advanced products. It is technological development on the nanometer scale. A nanometer is equivalent to one millionth of a millimeter. This technology exploits phenomena and structures that can only occur at the nanometer scale; the scale of several atoms and small molecules. Nanotechnology is based on the fact that the properties of materials become different when their size approaches that of a few hundreds or tens of atom in the organic compounds.
